Marmalade:Gertrude’s broken wand by Jason Thibeault

By | October 23, 2011

So i have done lots of book reviews lately and this one my daughter was given a chance to read and review it so this is a book review from her point of view. She is a very smart 10-year-old and loves to read… So all of you give her a warm welcome…

Gertrude’s broken wand was the best book i ever read. It was about twins who get lost in this mystical world. The girl winds up in the world called here. While there she breaks her magical wand and has to go on an adventure to fix the wand. On the way she meets an ogre, some wolves, and the guard at the castle. The girl learns that Gertrude didn’t tell her everything about her situation. On the way she finds out that she is to take Gertrude’s place in this world and will not be allowed to return home. There is a chance that she will die from being hurt or disappear because the land would disappear and she would go along with it. The brother follows his sister into the magical world because she calls after him and he gets lost, but some goblins find him and pronounce him King. They ask him to lead the battle with the ogres. The sister is a witch by now and she lifts the curse that was cast on the world by naming it. She replants the garden to make the world beautiful. This book was very good and i hope this review inspires you to read it or enter this giveaway.

So there you have it. I think that she wrote a very detailed review of this book. She really enjoyed reading this book and im glad she did.

I LOVED the Last unicorn by Peter S.Beagle! It was so fanciful and sorrowful at the same time. I also dug the Book of Three series by Lloyd Alexander. They made the first two books into the Disney movie The Black Cauldron. Also fanciful and a bit scary. Great reads!
