Learning to knit…

Since I started knitting i have been steadily learning as much as i can about knitting. I started knitting over the past summer when my twin sister decided to take up knitting so she could make longies and shorties for her son. She begged me to go with her to the classes but i did not have the money or the sitter to go and at the time i wasn't interested in knitting. But shortly after she started i was sitting in my living room watching her knit and i said hey can you teach me how to knit. So … [Read more...]

Knitting is fun

Yet another night with my knitting circle and I fully enjoyed it... Got couple more rows on my green blanket and made plans to start on my cowl soon. My friend E is going to work on a sweater when I start my cowl so that we will both be working on a garment when we do this...The blanket now has 6 inches on it and only needs like 18 more inches for a 24x24 but i have two and a half skiens of yarn still so i think ill just knit till I'm out of yarn.... Sister is working on some longies so not … [Read more...]

Knitting Circle

So every Monday i go to Panera Bread and visit with ten to fifteen women who are knitters.  We sit around the back of the restuarant   and knit away.  We share tips, show each other our projects, and help when asked.  Some of us are knitters some of us are crocheters.  With all the women there, there is one man that comes with his wife.  He is currently working on a very colorful blanket... I enjoy the knitting circle.  It gives me time with my daughter and time to knit.  I dont get much … [Read more...]

Working on blankets

So i have been steadily working on the blankets that i started and i have found that the thicke the yarn the quicker the knit... My green blanket has come along at an alarmingly fast rate with four inches or a little over four inches in under four days but the pink blanket was coming along pretty slow with four inches in two weeks. But I also did not knit continuously on the pink one for those two weeks.  I actually just took some time out of a few days per week to knit. But the green one i … [Read more...]

Jackson’s chunky wool blanket

So I started another blanket but this one is for my  son Jackson.... This will be a Chunky wool blanket that im using wool ease thick and quick knitting yarn in grass green... Here is what i have so far. I started out with casting on 96 stitches and I'm k1p1 until I use three balls of yarn... Not sure how long it will be but i know its 24inches wide. Its knitting up pretty nice and pretty fast. Will probably knit the pink one like this instead of the other way and the one I … [Read more...]

Wash Cloth Anybody

So here is my basic wash cloth. I can't remember how many I cast on but it wasn't two much. Then I just proceeded to knit two rows, purl two rows and eventually it will be finished. This was just a trial wash cloth to see how I did with purling since it was my first time purling... Love the yarn and hope to make something else with it in the future... Maybe I'll finish up with this wash cloth and make another one to go with it... … [Read more...]

Some Unfinished Projects!

It seems like lately I have even less time to knit. But I have a few projects that I am working on and one day, hopefully soon I will have them completed. Then I can come here and post finished project pictures for all to see.. A hat I am knitting for my daughters best friend. I added the color variations the original pattern did not call for different colors.
